Sapphire disc used in Octa Lune moonphase?

Is the 0.2 mm sapphire crystal a round disc that rotates around once every 30 days or is the sapphire crystal applied to a regular metal disc that rotates around every 30 days? What makes the blue sky? Is the sapphire cystal naturally blue or is it clear like the sapphire crystals on all watches that cover the dials? If it is clear, what makes it blue? (Enamel, laquer, paint, etc.)

You also mention that the sapphire crystal is gold plated. Does that mean that on a yellow gold dial (brass movement) that the stars and moon are 18 K yellow gold like that of the dial?

Also what material is used to make the Aracic numerals on the silver dial?
