I quite like this F 50 for its young and fresh interpretation of the perpetual calendar, indeed. I wonder if the 250 pieces were not made for the Ferrari F 50 owners. Which would explain that " coexistence " between these 2 versions of the same reference in the same metal.

There was also a RG limited edition of this watch that was sold before the F50.
As for the leap year: if you look at the left-hand register you will see 4 calendars. One of those 4 is the leap year.

Interesting how such a busy dial can come off as "clean"!
