Friends,
As you all know, we have been discussing it here earlier, the Girard-Perregaux Deep Diver reference 8867 came with two different sets of hands.
One version with big straight hands with big luminous areas and one version with thin hands and very little luminous material...
Today I don't think any brand would consider releasing a divers watch without making sure the hands are well visible under water.
But back in the 1960's this was not always the case.
Like on the Girard-Perregaux Deep Diver reference 8867 V:

Big luminous hour markers, but look at the hands...
Thin and with very small areas of luminous material!
A typical example of quirky vintage design.
Quirky, yet very charming!
Do you have any examples of "quirky" design to share?
Best
