Totally agree about the case and pushers as well as the lovely curved lugs.

Some fresh Monday morning shots of the Girard-Perregaux Calssic Elegance Chronograph 4946 from around the year 2000. I always admire the case and the pushers when I strap this one on. CC...

Great balance between the dial and case! :) Only thing one could wish for here would be a black date wheel or the Vlad way - no date... ;) Thank you for sharing, my friend! Best Blomman
Here I agree, the date is really unnecessary
and pops out on the black dial. I think it's very hard to integrate a date into a 3 register chrono that does not disturb symmetry. I think the Laureato Evo3 solved it with the 4th subdial below 12 and a arrow-poiter for the date.
but then you have the date window
eating into the subdial...I think that's even worse than between 4 and 5 o'clock. I'd rather break symmetry than having a hole cut into the subdial. So overall, better without date :)
Big +1 on different choices for different tastes
not worried about functionality, I just find it not very visually pleasing if something cuts into the subdial.
BTW: I would have said - "complementing the subdial".
I don't know how often you actually "use" your chrono. And IF you use it, how many times it records more than 4 hours... ?? ...:-)

there are for sure nice GP Chronos without date, but similar? There are a few from that time with the square-cambered case, but very different character watch. The 1966 Chrono is also a different category and not available in steel. I think the model that...

the 4948 can be found as a real bargain, a very worthy target indeed.
Wonderful 3-compax Chrono.. Love all, Ahhemm.. but the date.. +1 here.. Well patinated charm.. ;))

always a pleasure to see thsi one. is the "Fiat" 4948 38 or 40mm size? There is one tiny detail I would like to have been different on the 4948, which are the hour and minute hands. I think the subdial hands andf the central seconds hand look great in blu...
