I have a question that just came to mind when seeing the photo of the deployment buckle. Is it actually possible to remove the folding bit and only use the attached pin buckle?

I believe you can
It is a similar design to the deployant on the Breguet Marine's My AD who deals with both brands confirmed it.

The bracelet is very well made, and I understand that the bracelet version is more faithful to the original design. But after seeing both versions with my own eyes, I just preferred the look of the watch on strap, and decided to follow my intuition. 😊

Grey is equally beautiful!
If you like it, please go for it. It's different from any grey I've seen. Very "noble". I did have a dilemma with choosing between blue and grey.
