I guess they hand picked movements for Observatory. Like a few best out of each batch. Or maybe there is another explanation? Not sure

I will be sending him pictures of this Chronometer later this week, so I can get info on it. I will ask him, how come one is Observatory and the other one not. I will also try asking him about 1 vs 2 engraved serials.

I noticed something really peculiar. That 12xxx number is engraved twice on your movement. On mine, which has the full box set, it only has the number engraved once Mine is signed as a Chronometer HF. ...

Both chronometers that I got have the GXM mark and have serial stamped on the movement twice.

My initial observation was that the double serials were early models of HF or an early Observatory Chronometer as most of these pieces have the "electric" logo beneath them, but there is no consistency to the method, I've seen both ways of serial (one and...
