Girard Perregaux

Marc, I agree

I want more from GP than just dial color changes . Is this the “easy” way out? How about a new case size or movement for Laureato? I am interested to see what GP announces for 50th anniversary of Laureato this year. There have been some changes at work, so , amongst other reasons, I did end up parting with my more expensive pieces for now. I have to say I have a real love / hate relationship with GP right now. Last year I buy a “rare and discontinued” Laureato 38 mm in blue (my favorite dial color) and then GP goes and releases a new version of… The. Exact. Same. Watch… So I paid a high premium for my watch for those reasons, and now due to the new release, GP confusing and aimless strategy of flooding the market with more of the same thing… My old GP is worth much less. Giving me another reason to sell it, because I paid a stupid amount for it to begin with. Sorry, I’m rambling now. But you asked 😉 So! Depending on what this year brings , I do miss my 38 mm Laureato , I’d consider finding a pre owned for a much more reasonable price, and adding it back  . And the less likely option (due to anticipated MSRP being in the stratosphere) is to wait to see the 50th anniversary novelty / new release this year, and perhaps add that. All while being MUCH MORE CONSCIOUS about GP resale pricing on the secondary market. Especially when they are just pumping out duplicates of the same thing , and history tells us the brand value plummets anyways . Cheers , be well my friend !
