So to clarify, the ref 80188 is the ONLY quartz laureato Evo3 and it was only made a a novelty.
Perhaps the plan under the stewardship of Gino and Stephano Macaluso was to eventually make some protection pieces.
Also, a few short month later, Gino would pass away in his sleep. Kering bought GP is few months after and they shelved all quartz plans of this nature.
In a sense, the 80188 is a largely forgotten reference. Only 20 made (or less).
There is a lot of interest amongst collectors that realize that quartz is not all the same. High end quartz and high accuracy quartz is a growing segment that GP would have a compelling story to a company some high Horology finishing coupled with the technology.
We have seen the FP Journe Elegante in the explode in demand. Prices hitting the roof. The calibre finishing is not as nice as the GP 80188 IMHO.
The quartz movement used by FPJ is outsourced.

But still, credit goes to FPJ for his vision and fortitude to buck the usual naysayers about quartz in 2015.
The 80188 novelty was released in 2010. A full five years earlier.
It must also be remembered that it was not quartz that killed a large majority of the Swiss watch industry. While called the โQuartz Crisisโ, it was a lack of of modern vertical manufacturing methods and supply chain integration that hammered the Swiss.
In actuality, quartz have save the Swiss watch industry by forcing rationalisation and adoption of modern manufacturing methods.
And this humble little guy helped bring in much needed revenue and act as a gateway drug for many a young budding collector.
