the subdial design is a consideration, but for me the size was the deciding factor. Normally, i would go with the smaller one, but real life experience made me chose the 42mm. The crammed subdials have their own charm, I must admit,

to the 5070 if you chose a different colour, probably the blue. Vintage 45 Chrono, Ref 2599 is very special and something I will also come back to in the near future.

Great post and congratulations! As for the placement of the seconds hand: both my "Phil Hill" and my "Retour en Vol" have the seconds hand to the right. Tradition, perhaps, for GP?

As far as the seconds hand is concerned, there is no consistency across different lines, sometime left, sometime right, but it surprised me that one of the 1966 Chronos is different than all the others.

On this watch, the dial os more silver than beige and the black strap is a perfect match.
