Girard Perregaux

I had the opportunity to handle two days ago the new Girard-Perregaux Laureato with Blue Dial. Sadly, the White Dial one was not available but it is not a main issue: at least on pictures, my fav version was the Blue one. Actually, I was very eager to see...  

The small movement visible through the sapphire case back? A solid case back would have solved that issue. The date? As you said, a blue background would have been better. Now, like you, I like the watch a lot. The white dial is not for me. The blue dial ... 

Great shots and interesting read. This is a watch I really looking forward to see in the metal and to build a personal opinion about! BTW, regarding the date background color: I agree that if blue the date would blend in more... But, harder to read AND fr... 

Only two complaints: - The missing standard caseback - The watch is very, very similar to the VC Overseas non-chrono Models, of course at first sight and not on details.. Do you know something about the price range, Fx? Yours, Adam

+1 on the preference of the Blue version. Agree, that the too small mvmt is a bit of a down, LE is a clear disadvantage, wrong for me.. Although probably less in pricing than the VC Oversees, I am pretty sure the GP policy will unlikely make a nice entry ...

Thus, two things for me: the VC Overseas is a bit more expensive.. . .. and several entry models of most brands are more affordable, as well. Not that an easy set-up for a "sporty Backbone Piece" But I do also like both, the blue dialled Laureato & the VC... 

I\'m not in the market for something like this because I don\'t favor 70s designs, but I find the price extremely aspirational. Just too much competition at this price level, and even in absolute terms the price seems much too high for what you get. Just ... 

Looking at the movement one wonders why GP (and so many other brands) insist on a display caseback when the movements are small in relation to the case; or the finishing isn't special. Having said that (as others) the case is terrific-different shapes mel...

I have an old 8110. But they could have hidden the movement because he's too small, compared to diameter. It looks like to what i call ring-shaped cake. I don't mind the date color, the use of white is fine or every sporty watch would be a 15202's clone

For the first time I get to see the backside of the case. For most watches, I'm not that bothered by a date plate that has a non-matching color with the dial. So that's not an issue for me. However, I do agree with you that at least one of two models, pro...

Its price is definitively too high... even if the watch is attractive. Coming back to the Laureato, it is for me a successful reedition. Fx

from a friend of mine. We both own the GP 8010 and that's why i give 100% credits to his overall analysis. The watch is a NON sporty watch, so how can it be explained the 30 m Water resistance with a screwed crown? Is it sealed with paper? The laureato is... 

The screw down crown and case back would probably hold more, but it lack the high pressure construction as for example the Sea Hawk. As for the screws, the watch in the photos is a prototype. The final watch will definitely have heated blue screws. Best B... 

But it is too big and deep,IMHO, so i really take care of my old 8010 p.s. link never received, but fortunately i have already fixed it
