Glashütte Original

A contrarian view

I prefer the first by a wide margin. The old Senator
design, of which the first is a good example, is clean and modern, if a bit
pedestrian.

On the other hand, the second watch uses too many retro
design elements - Breguet hands and numbers, knurled bezel and crown - none of
which work well when used together. For example, the Breguet hands and numbers
complement each other. But they clash with
 the
concentric matte polishing in the dial centre portion; the sub-seconds dial with
the odd dot markings and modern looking font for the numerals does not suit the
overall look either. And then the knurled bezel and crown just look plain out of
place.
