. . . on my wrist some four years ago . . . the local dealer called me when it arrived and I showed up the next day to try it on. I had no intention of buying it when I walked in the door, but for a brief moment I was seized by the insane thought of pulling out the plastic and taking it home, as much for the distinction of having a #1 as for the magnificent heft of the watch itself. I had just purchased my first Karree perpetual calendar a few months before and was still feeling the pain, and since I'm really not a collector but more of an afficianado the cache of a #1 is somewhat diminished. Still, I take pride in my #3 of 10 black dial Senator perpetual calendar . . .
. . . which I couldn't walk away from . . . it's soon to be joined by the very last rose gold black dial Karree perpetual - watch this space in the coming weeks. Cordially, Art
