Glashütte Original

Congrats on the new stablemate, Steve, and thanks for . . .

. . . photos. I suppose my predilection for the original Karree perpetual is well known, but my admiration for the vaunted limited edition cal 39 Navigator perpetuals, both steel and gold, is just as deep. I had the opportunity to pick one up several years ago, but those pesky Karree perpetuals always got in the way; by the time I was ready for steel Navigator perpetual, they were all gone :-(. I think you'll find the Karree to have a different character despite the similar base movement as the narrowly separated day/month apertures and absence of a seconds hand lend a perspective that is simultaneously more formal and relaxed . . . I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Here's a photo of Scott's similar Karree perpetual . . .

. . . and, for good measure, a photo of the steel version that I took a few weeks ago at a local dealership.

Welcome to the Karree club, Steve . . . cordially, Art
