Reading some posts here and found that Cal.100 generally has pretty good comments to be a successor to Cal.39. It looks like Cal. functions better and is also preciser.  Why do old models with Cal.39 still hold value better than the new ones with Cal.100? Does "classic" simply outrun "functional"? How are the value of these watches evaluated?

Back to the original question of this post, I thought the discontinued model would require more works to make the dial more delicate than the current model. Isn't that the case? I understand that which one looks better depends on individual's taste, and thus I am simply asking the works / manufacturing process put to make the final product.
