Glashütte Original

These are fairly broad questions . . .

. . . but I would hazard an opinion that, based on the novelties this year, the company's reputation for offering excellent watches with elegant aesthetics has been enhanced.  One of the reasons I'm drawn to G O is their adherence to conservativism . . . instead of creating increasingly exotic and needlessly complicated designs, their chosen path seems to be a traditional one, creating watches of enduring value rather than designs that are different for the sake of being different.  That they're part of a conglomerate hasn't really changed their offerings, in my opinion, nearly as much as Dr. Müller's personal touch in directing the design bureaus towards creating a more refined appearance for most of the line-up.  I'm certainly planning on keeping my four G O perpetuals indefinitely, and for my next watch - which will definitely be a simple manual wind - two of the five under consideration are G O's; it's hard to find, in my opinion, a substantively better watch for the asking price than the new Karree Panodate manual-winding cal 22 that was introduced this year.  Cordially, Art
