Never say never but at my age (72) and just being a regular guy, I think my watch (and fountain pen) buying days are largely over. I have a rolex, 2 Cartier, a Reverso, a GP, a Bulgari, a panerai, iwc, nomos, Porsche Design, Speake Marin, Chronoswiss, rgm...
is much, much smaller, 2 Rolex, B&R, TAG, and many vintage pieces. I have a few fountain pens also, I think one more in each category and I will be done too. I still want a Montblanc fountain pen and a Cartier tank watch.
Actually I do need them to COMPLETE my meager collection, and make me stop thinking about them once and for all. I look at other watches and pens but these 2 never leave my mind.
Whilst a little younger than you I am also trying to be done but it is harder than one should expect after all they are only watches but the pull sometimes is just so hard to resist. I think i've done pretty well and have managed to reduce to just 4 watch...
But yes technically your right it is 5 why should something so easy actually be so hard to stick to, I would be lying if I didn't say I am currently strongly fighting the urge for something special but at least I'm contemplating one out to make it happen....
Look up Dufrane Whitney collaboration and you can see this years collection. They sell out in minutes. The regular Waterloo is nice too. Copper or linen dial, top level Sellita movement, screw down crown and hand regulated for about 700-800 bucks.
