From the 1970’s, this classic Riviera has a rotating 12 sided Bezel.
The Bezel on this model (4000.038) has two World locations etched into its 12 sections. The Bezel is turned until the etched local area is opposite the hour hand, then time anywhere in the world can be read by using the locations on the bezel.
Driven by a quartz ETA Valjoux movement…the Case is mixed Gold Tone and Steel.
White dial face, inner track of black Roman numerals, outer track with gold tone rectangular markers, gold tone Baton hands including a Concentric Seconds hand. Dial marked “100 M” to show water resistance. The B&M Phi Φ is on the dial face and the stem winding Crown. Date Window at 3.
Bracelet is Gold Tone and Steel with a deployant clasp.
While classic B&M Rivieras with fixed bezels are found with some frequency. This model, with the rotating world etched bezel, is rarely seen.
Unretouched and proudly showing a lifetime of use.
The brand is now owned by the Italian Damiani company.
