leaning towards the speedy.
I'm sure everyone on this forum has gone through the same phases. But I am currently in a love hate relationship w/ rolex. Love the watches, hate the sales strategy. I guess its part of why people want a rolex, but i'm getting a little sick of it. Omega boutique people are 1000% friendlier. I love how the speedy looks so good w/ so many different straps, just a matter of getting over the size for me at this point.
as much as saving up for the 15202ST sounds reasonable, I have a personal event which i was hoping to celebrate w/ a watch, so would like something within the year.
thank you for your advice, now back to staring at watch photos.....

you are not afraid of a less robust movement. Also a classical look, bracelet available, silver or black dial.

VC above in gold its a beauty. The new steel Overseas is a 1mm smaller at 41mm's vs the 2nd gen which is 42mm so they may be a better fit. Omega's are nice but since your at the Lange level right off the bat I would save for the Royal Oak or Overseas. Ton...

Speedmaster is a killer watch. Don’t underestimate it. Seriously. But, of you really want the 15202ST save up and get it when the time is ripe.

A datejust or OP is obtainable and there are enough dial/bezel/bracelet/size options that you'll have something that works well for you.
The DJ41 is very nice, for example. A Rolex, for all people have to say about it, makes a great gift to yourself.
Consider the Vacheron Overseas 2nd Gen Chronograph or Vacheron 3rd Gen Time+ Date
