Great to meet a few new new watch friends, and to catch up with old ones as well. From a plastic swatch to a dead seconds tourbillon, and just about everything in between. Quite a pile on the table there. I really liked that Astron. Not something you see ... 

I really like it and have seen it on quite a few wrists! very striking, yet simple design.

..no close-up pics of it? Was the owner shy about it?

....I don't know why Andrew didn't take close-ups, but it's the AMVOX2 Chronograph DBS - 192T450 if you're wondering.

... and I didn't get photos of all of them. But it is the AMVOX2 DBS, as Aptronym points out. 44mm and in light titanium with a partially skeletonized dial. But still the chrono counters are very legible. Short lugs so it sits very well indeed on the wris...

...I love the variety in these photos. It's part of what watches are about, for me. The sheer breadth of different interests. Some of these watches I know well, but others not at all. I'm also curious about the Swatch, although I have a hunch re: whether ...

That one I can help with... though I should probably do a more comprehensive post or series... Basically it's the culmination of 7 weeks /5 years of work, in which I was trying to complete an ETA 6498 based custom movement/case/dial, but ran out of time b...  

It was clear that your watch was a 'custom' piece and, to a lover of Independents, it was the first to scream out of the photo. You have been running a blog, haven't you, on the manufacture of your watch? A mutual acquaintance pointed to it some time ago,... 

Yup, the movement is mine as well, I had hoped to case it instead of the ETA, but ran out of time before heading O/S, and also was running out of tools, raw materials, and health... The blog is woefully out of date unfortunately, shortly after my last pos...
