Sarpaneva quality is very high, IMO.
I've handled a few of his watches and have been as impressed by the quality of the case work than by the dial and movement work. I think you may be mistaking something else for the work of Mr. Stepan Sarpaneva.
The Supernova watch which Mr. Harry Tan photographed is one of the examples I examined and I found the seams between the case parts to be nearly invisible and the polishing and sturdiness of the case to be of the first water.
