Most of the watches I've seen so far by Independents are in the classic vein or fall under the technically innovative like Vianney Halter or Urwerk, no independent comes to my mind when I think of rugged sports watches finished to a high standard like the ROO from AP.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thank You,

...or define Independent?
Journe and Voutilainen make (or made) beautiful chronographs which might be seen as 'Sports' watches and DeWitt and Hublot (are they 'Independent'?) seem to have 'rugged' covered.
Cheers,

Aniceto Jimenez Pita was highlighted by Suitberg in his post on the AHCI forum. I do find his Oceana quite fascinating.
These are Suitberg's pics...

I hope he improves on the cases, and the edges of the crystals.
The designs are quite cool, but on examining the watches this year, the case quality is off by a big margin.
He has used the materials that we see on Guess watches or those "metal" materials that often resemble stuff from cutlery.
I've handled a few of his watches and have been as impressed by the quality of the case work than by the dial and movement work. I think you may be mistaking something else for the work of Mr. Stepan Sarpaneva.
The Supernova watch which Mr. Harry Tan photographed is one of the examples I examined and I found the seams between the case parts to be nearly invisible and the polishing and sturdiness of the case to be of the first water.
