A registered legal letter was sent to the US and was held in customs for a week - I contacted our UK postal service and they said that greater security checks are now in place US side - that may cause extended delays.
All for increased security (presumably)

I haven't had any customs delay issues on my end
with my other business. Seems normal to me. Then again, my shipments are through UPS, FedEx, or DHL - not through USPS. - AT

That does seem to be the case
On average, it is shorter by a couple to 3 days to receive stuff from US than when I send stuff there. Especially after 911 I fancy. I can understand why.
