Your display’s contrast…
…appears vastly higher than the ‘Gray Shades’ (ref. TW5M54500) I received from Japan just yesterday. And compared to my cheapy JDM Casio F-84W, its downright dark - there’s no comparison. I’m not sure if it’s because you’re in direct sunlight in the photo…but do you find the display’s contrast to be quite low in low light?
Regardless of all that, I love what HODINKEE have done - and man, am I a sucker for such translucence!

Something rather different today. Not a Texas Timex (hence the subject line reference above for those that didn’t connect), just a Timex. Quartz, yes, this has been a soft spot for me of late having sworn off such battery powered technology for many years...

In my late teens and early twenties I always had one on to time my runs and swim laps. I wore glasses back then so I couldn’t see the pace clock when training in the pool with them off so I needed the watch with me in the pool. I was also poor back then a...

That’s a coincidence, both inbounds the same week. I think that is mostly the direct sunlight.
I don’t think the contrast is any different than yours.
You wear this Ironman very well: great shot!
