Wow, that's a lot of presence.
It seems to me that Eterna decided to make a diver's instrument watch, with the emphasis on instrument. The size, the flip-out watch head, the crown, the internal bezel all seem designed for functionality underwater. However, these features may make it harder to pull off as a daily wearer. I'd be interested to hear your reviews of it both underwater and on the street.
Glad you're so stoked about the Kontiki. I have a Kontiki 10 from the 1960's that was big for its time (36 mm, and maybe 8-9 mm thick) but it would be quite funny to see these two side-by-side. Probably like putting an NFL lineman from the 1960s next to a current player.
Note about the movement. Nothing wrong with the 2897, and PR is nice, but I would have preferred that Eterna go in-house and use their new Eterna 3030 caliber. Not only is it larger (30mm) and more in proportion to the case, but it comes with a big date, which would fit well with the bold dial. PR-for-big date is a trade I'd make on this watch.
