Admittedly, I have already sold a few watches to (partially) finance OTHER watches.
In two cases I sold a watch because it no longer felt 100% correctly and bought an improved model years later, which I am still very happy with.
Selling s Rolex Day Date 36 mm in white gold with silver dial and smooth bezel. 
Years later: Buying a Rolex Date 40 mm in white gold with fluted bezel and olive green dial. 
Selling an IWC Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar 1st gen. in white gold with 39 mm and white dial. 
Years later buying a Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Rattrapante 2nd gen. in platinum with dark blue dial.

1. Carlo Ferrara dancing regulator: bought and sold three times 2. Breguet Tradition: bought and sold twice 3. Reverso Gran Sport Chrono: sold and bought again 4. UN rattrapante: sold and bought again, both rose and white gold
How does that happen 2-3 times for a given piece??
Did your feelings toward it really change that much, or were there other circumstances?
Both watches were not easy to read, but the design was interesting
I sold them because they were not very functional (for me at least), but then I missed the look. It took me few back and forth to finally make a decision. I still miss the Ferrara even though I would never think of buying it again
Other than some of my stolen watches thant I bought again... A few.

Rolex 16613 - bought and sold three times (as a bonus, I also bought and sold a 16803). Seiko SBBN007 - bought and sold twice.
