Actually, the way to read this watch is to look at...
... the inner bezel, which turns just a little bit slower than the minute indicator. So the watch is showing the time as 1:53. At 2:00 (in about seven minutes), the number two on the inner bezel and the minute indicator will line up at 12:00. Hope that he...
If You Look At The Inner Bezel...
... You will see the "1" is slightly trailing the minute hand. And so, the time displayed would be read as 1:53. At 2:00, the minute hand and the "2" on the inner bezel will line up at the 12:00 position.
