As a gift of course yes, but despite the current (and rather predictable) trend towards unisex (all-gender?) watches....never for myself! ;-)
My girlfriend is actually a customer at Van Cleef (jewelry, not watches) so we often visit the boutique and look at their offering, and I confess that on rare instance I've been tempted by some of their artistic models....but never gave in yet!

I was dating a model. I bought her a Baume Catwalk. We subsequently broke up soon after. We ran into each other at a friends photo shoot. She offered to give the watch back but of course I wouldn’t take it as it was a gift.

Many thanks, the one that seriously tempted me of these two was in fact that on the left with a sky motive, a real Ladies piece by any standard but also a good expression of VCA's message (in the other the enamel is honestly too far from Patek's)...
Maybe one day, as I'm certainly not shy when it comes to my watch or wardrobe decisions! ;-))
