Horological Meandering

After last years 'breakup' we decided to get together again in 2013. Lots of great conversation and catching up as usual. Here are a few snaps from the evening, although I spent too much time talking and didn't try on many. And we finished with an in-dept...  

. . . practically brand spanking new! Unusual to see a steel model in such pristine condition. '55?

is a project / franken watch of mine. The only thing vintage about it is the movement. Case, dial, hands, crown, all are unused (but correct for the model) Omega service parts. Not really one for the 'purists', but still wears very nicely, IMHO. grumio ...  

It at not be a vestal but its pure enough to me. It seems to be big. What is the case size? Cheers Nilo

The most common size for Seamasters of the period. 36mm was the 'jumbo' size. Must be my small(ish) wrist that makes it look big. It does have fairly substantial lugs, which give a little more presence. grumio

. . . from the parts bin! A valid counterpoint to my aged and withered '56 American issue model . . . . . . that's currently undergoing restoration. ...  

But still has potential. Look forward to seeing how it ends up after restoration. grumio

...and a little TLC! This is a very early, and except for the crown, original example. Movement is from '53 or so. ...
