Beautiful trio. Love the dial diversity. I would not worry about the AP crown, though.
In all of my years of wearing one, and all watches, I have never once banged a crown. Never. I can understand maybe needing protection for dive watches (and how many here actually dive with an expensive watch? OK me, I did it with a PAM87). But you will not damage that crown unless maybe you have a metal endoskeleton for your arm / wrist / hand ;-)

In black, I suspect the texture probably varies from strong to imperceptible depending on the light conditions (?)
You’re absolutely correct.
Head on the pattern is quite noticeable but at other angles the dial is just a gloss black to the eye.

Haven’t come close to this on any of my watches. Just that the crown on the RO looks so lonely!🤣
Lume longevity
Congrats on the Ingenieur. I have the white dial and love it. Re the lume, I've been unimpressed with how quickly the lume seems to fade away, doesn't seem to last long at all. I know it is hard to really determine, but have you noticed anything similar?

To be fair - I’d had the RO for years before I noticed it had any lume at all!
