Greetings Purists,
I am making a change in my collection, which consists of the following: a vintage Seamaster (hand-me-down), a Ti Kobold Seal (diver/beater watch), and a nice Stowa Flieger Original LE (gives me a casual, pilot-style).
What I am searching for is something that will be a good all-arounder: sporty enough to be okay getting wet, and doesn't need to be treated as fragile, casual enough to be fine with jeans and a T-shirt or business casual wear, but nice enough that with a little strap change it can be passable with a suit (which I don't wear often at all). Something smart, but not overly dressy or pretty.
These are the contenders. Of these, which would you choose (keeping in mind that my other two main watches have black dials):
1) Chopard LUC Sport 2000, silver dial, on bracelet (easily dressed up with a good strap)
2) IWC Ingenieur (black dial, strap not terribly dressy, but a decent change)
3) JLC Squadra Hometime black dial
As you can see, I'm looking for something in the <$4.5k range (second-hand), and have a penchant for well-made, rugged in-house movements.
Please let me know which you would choose, and whether you have any other suggestions, taking into consideration my small collection.
Best, and thanks!
Daniel
