Graham,
The ETA 2824 is a tractor of an engine and can be adjusted to be consistent and/or accurate. The prime goal being 'consistent' and then we can sort out 'accurate'.
So, if your PPro ABR is consistently -25s/d, that is good and means that adjusting accuracy is easy.
As the watch is not meant to be a chronometer, the "official "specs are in the order +/- 20s/d but in reality, the watchmakers aim for 10s/d. So, 25s/d is outside specs.
I found that the early batch was adjusted for loss rather than gain......that was their default adjustment.
I must say that I had experience of 3 pieces and they gave +1s/d, +8s/day and +15s/d respectively. The watches did not like being adjusted every day and did settle down after 3 or 4 days.
1) Do i leave it for longer to see if it settles down? YES
2) Do i send it back for adjustment? Depends on how anal you are about setting a watch that you wear for 2 days and may not reset again for a spell ...... seems a long way home for the watch too.
3) Do i take the back off and adjust it myself(please say no)? NO is the official answer but it is a simple ETA-2824
4) Do i live with it? Depends on 1 and 2 above
Let Anthony know what you decide by e-mail.
Regards,
MTF
