...the quartz movement. Anyway, I remember living in Queens, New York, and the big Bulova factory/design center near LaGuardia Airport. I think the building is still there, but I don't think the Bulova name is on it anymore (research time!). BTW, then the quartz was shared/given to the Japanese, since the Swiss thought, like the tuning fork, it would never amount to much, and guess what...
Perhaps it's no small miracle that Swiss mechanical and quartz are doing well today, and that we're not all wearing Seikos (which would have been the only watch available if quartz had become the only movement to still exist). A little food for thought.
