For me it factors in only if they are unchangeable/integrated. I've purchased watches with bracelets and swapped them out to a strap, and visa versa.
So I guess I care more about the case and dial than anything.
When I bought the UN it came on a strap and I later bought the bracelet, and the Corum came on a bracelet and I wear it with a strap.
There are some watches that just don't look good if you take them off what they originally came with.

It's timepiece dependent. And some look great in multiples of straps / bracelets.

For me, it depends on the watch, but, I am more a bracelet guy, but, do love a good nato/watch combo…I wish I could get with straps other than nato…on a Panerai, yes, no problem here, but, I have tried on Speedmasters and subs and don’t prefer that combo....
