The Simplicity uses automated cut plates by a 3rd party vendor. The design is based on an old movement, not original.
The hand finishing is excellent, but in terms of technical achievement not at all competitive for reasons that have nothing to do with being a time-only watch, I would say.
The GF here is made as much as possible with hand operated tools. It's on a whole different level there.
The anglage may not be as wide, but everything up to that step is superior in terms of hand work.
That's the case I would make, at any rate. Other hand made watches can be compared, I don't find the English style of finish to be inferior. As a whole package, perhaps the GF is one of the nicest hand made wristwatches made.
