I'd assume it's not worth the counterfeiters' efforts or expense to change the tooling for the number since this number is seen on various models, but it's difficult to know the mind of a forger.
I just know that I've seen no 344 on various fakes online. But as I've said, I'm not familiar with FM so I could be wrong. I also question other aspects of the one you've shown. Hopefully someone who knows the brand will give a definitive answer.
I see. You seem to be more familiar with the brand than I am as this is the first FM I've ever seen in person.
