I don't let either my lifestyle or profession............
Influence my decision, but likely to be a fantasy or a daydream (if this makes sense!)
I know that this may sound shallow, but then again it would be the truth.
I have seen my watch tastes change immensley over the past 10 years and quite often the decision has been based on other persons point of views.
I wear the same watch, for about 99% of the time, I do not have to wear a business suit to work, but I do wear a uniform and fortunately about 99.9999999999% of the people that I interact with have NO idea what a Patek Philippe is, but say the word Rolex and they would.
Of course I could wear my faithful Casio G Shock to work , but then I wouldn't get the opportunity to wear the what that I really want to wear and anyway is that what we have insurance for??

I would say watches for different ocassions. Our lifestyle are not fixed 24 hours. A Banker does not sit at office all day so you dont expect him to wear a dressy watch to go with his cuff links and tie. An active Banker wears a lot of sports range watche...
