Good day Purists... I've a dilemma... that is my collection since last 3 years i was bitten by the horological bug ;-) now i feel i've to get out the Rolex Explorer 214270 and Omega De Ville Orbis Hour Vision to move on to next steps... I've Vacheron-Cons...

However the Saxonia thin is, ahem thin to balance the smaller diameter. The 1815 to me has a perfect diameter that will never go out in style. It is a Classic diameter at the 38-39mm range and I truly believe that is the sweet spot in size. The thickness ... 

as i was sharing with SC16, i tried all today - ALS1815 & FPJ CB is the final choice (my wife finds these 2 are natural choice). for sure Saxonia is meek against ALS1815 !

Lange, because even if you think it's the wrong decision; you'll feel no financial loss if you decide to buy another option in your list. And AL&S is a blue chip purist brand who make every part in house.

interesting choices.... It seems your main interest is 2 hand watches whilst 3 hand watches has gained your interest. Have you wore any of the watches that you mention already? I think that is key in your current moment as it seems you have decided on the... 

thanks you for detailing... for a reason i don't know, i have a pref. to watches with no-date window & if possible a 2 hand one (except if it is hi-beat). i tried VC patrimony, AL&S saxonia, 1815 & also a JLC Master Ultra Thin 1907. I'm more convinced on ...

i was trying all watches today... my wife told "i don't understand why you have trouble in choosing; go for ALS1815 and FP Journe CB, forget about VC & Saxonia" in her perspective, seems to be a straight forward choice

But unless you've simply lost love for a current piece, I'd hold my ground. Once you start selling to buy, you risk uttering the words, "I use to have one," "I wish I stll had that," or "I regret getting rid of that one." Seling to buy is a slippry slope ... 

Been there and sellers remorse is not a nice feeling. Better to build on..

Yeah...i see your point valid & wonderfully mentioned 'There's no instant gratification and the journey is arduous' in practical sense i think my collection shouldn't be over 5 watches, so at a point i've to go through selling. thank you.

Thanks Todd...but i think i would need to have a 'handful' (now this is the next dilemma) so i enjoy wearing all of my collection regularly...

and I have tried the Saxonia Thin several times. Somehow it is lacking something. The 1815 on the other hand is such a joy. I also own a FP Journe CS. And I would have probably gotten the Chronmetre Bleu instead of the CS had I seen them side by side. The... 

I agree Ian, i tried y'day both AL&S. 1815 has a graceful edge over Saxonia - true. on FPJourne CB, i'm planning to try it on wrist - i like the pic of the movement, it is quite fascinating...

Given this emotional hobby. But; 1. I would keep one sports watch with steel bracelet 2. I would go for the 1815 or Chronometre Bleu - 1815 is a \'safer\' choice because it would fit more occasions - Chronometre is a beauty (want to add one myself)

your point make sense...seeing other responses from Purists i think AL&S 1815 is a safe bet ! it is emotional hobby for sure & separation is always hard :-(

i think each watch we buy has an emotional link & i do have my story (of course crazy) behind both Omega & Rolex. I'm fascinated by the blue dial of Omega & Rolex is just simple, comfortable and robust. the only trouble is, my linking more is inclined to ... 

Just because I had a CS once and I too would buy the Bleu next time. Personally I have (in the past) had no fear of selling. And no remorse. Of course I have way more watches than any sane person would keep. Cazalea

The Chronometre Bleu with its grey metal tantalum case and rose gold movement is really something special. the case size is perfect at 39mm. Probably the most special production 3 hander on the market.
