I think we agree Don
In the past, I haven't seen prooves of the improvement and it was mainly used for communication purposes.
On the other hand, I like seeing these new developments and I'm also hoping to see a possible breakthrough in the future from this kind of research.
This will help reaching a new step in the field of Chronometrie.

even chopard was developing somethin new. hope is not just a protype... Genequand is the name...did they make it? This would be really innovative
Or the Girard-Perregaux escapement a few years ago...

but it will be more interesting to know its chronometric charactoristics. Is the timing better than a standard Swiss anchor escapement with a normal balance? Parmigiani visiters at the SIHH, please take a look and let us know. Don
