Intriguing that you picked up on the Synchrobeat, K . . .
. . . as it's one of the rarest and scarcest Omega chronometers.
I believe they were issued contemporaneously with Rolex's Tru-Beat, around '53 or '54. The story is they were so unreliable that Norman Morris, the US agent, issued a recall. (That would explain why there are so few circulating.) Can't say whether or not that's true, but there are damn few that show up anywhere. The last one that was covered many years ago on PuristSPro's Omega forum was an auctioned example that went for crazy money.
Never seen one in the metal, unless it was at Omegamania (and I just don't remember). Don't know if they were issued in steel; doubtful, but possible.
