Horological Meandering

i used to think i would always wear white metal cased watches, meaning steel, white gold, platinum etc... not anymore it seems the 2 watches below have seen the most wrist time the past few weeks and here are some pics to try and explain why... just pure ...

and it is actually New World, a massive(although smaller than a Egizano ) Waltham Pocket Watch. I don't have a pic of it, but I'll try to take something tonight. A

yellow gold from the earlier part of the 20th century had more copper in it than it does now so it had a rose gold look and that is i think why we are attracted to RG. manufacturers seem to release their 'heritage' pieces in RG for this reason. i have sev...

The movement is plated in rose gold as well:...  

. . . between the rose gold case and the plated movement. The only reason I can think of (other than different compositions of rose gold) is that the movement plates are constructed from brass, which might tend to highlight the reddish tones over the rest... 

I can find no evidence of it on the market. Especially the colors of plated gold and solid gold are very different. I have had 5N plating done which is very much redder than the 5N cases I have seen. It isn't because of the brass as there is a nickel laye...
