Horological Meandering

May I offer a clarification?

In fact, Ebel's cal. 137 movement is the result of a team project of Ebel and Ulysse Nardin to develop a chronograph movement for one, and a perpetual calendar movement for the other. The Lémania 1340 design was acquired by these two companies, and Nouvelle Lémania (later Manufacture Breguet) reserved the right to use it for own purposes. Main point of interest behind the acquisition was the Lémania's Pellaton system for the bidirectional automatic winding mechanism, permitting a thin design and higher integration of the complication.

So when Ulysse Nardin acquired the Ebel cal. 137, not only the plans and all tools, but also all spare parts were part of the deal. When I visited the UN factory several years ago, I saw that UN had also took over the service of the Ebel chronographs, but I do not know if this is still the case.
