Horological Meandering

Nice people.

Yesterday my house was burgled. I had three beautiful watches stolen:
Chopard Lunar 1 platinum s/n 161894 9001 180/250
Breguet Ladies Marine
Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow chrono, white dial
I thought that I would alert my Purist friends and acquaintances to the thefts. You never know where these things might turn up.
My experience of GTGs is that most of us Purists lead full and busy lives. I was taken aback by the warm, friendly 100% response
to my mailing. Whew!, busy, busy people (you know who you are) and you all made time to express support, suggestions, concern
and sympathy.
What nice people you are. I suspect that you are representative of the vast majority of Purists.

I started thinking about what had been stolen and was surprised with what came to me.
My wife had a beautiful, ultra fine enamel pendant of a Trigger fish. Not valuable but so exquisite. They are not made any more,
irreplaceable.
I used to play the clarinet and had an amazingly accurate stick pin of a clarinet. Again, so special. It's gone now.
My beat up Omega had travelled the world with me: every business trip (wouldn't want to look too well off!),every holiday. Maybe it even absorbed my DNA, or perhaps I started to become part of it!
Nobody was hurt.

How do these memories compare to expensive things? For me it's a no brainer.
