as anyone who's read any of my posts will know, i have a little theme going on involving watches made/sold in the year of my birth. 1964. surprisingly this is a year shared by more than a handful of Purists including 3 moderators that i know of. it brings...

i know, i dont put in enough effort this is the most work i've done for months. i took pics of all the watches again with the t shirt as a base, but they came out crap so i used old ones. waste of 2 hours. i love you too bud (sorry, i meant love your work...

Hamilton Thin-o-matic with micro rotor a couple from Germany another 9ct presentation piece so far my only Longines, a handwind jamboree Ollech & Wajs Carribbean. first 1000m dive watch to be produced by O&W for themselves and Jenny (post coming) Omega 9c...

Remarkable collection that gives one a great sense of the variety and the trends in horology (smaller case diameter, round case, applied markers, textured dials etc.) at that time. Hope to hear more about your thoughts regarding this time period....

Congratulations on your milestone Graham and of course your 1964 collection! I have always thought of trying to do the same with my birth year but never get passed the thinking and looking part, but as I am drawn towards big watches it is not easy to find... 

thanks Andrew and i'll get to meet you at the end of the month. i'm sure there is a decent sized watch from your birth year although it may cost a kidney. perhaps a submariner or speedy. if you were born before 1957 you'll find it difficult to find a nice... 

and think its going to be a great day with friends and to make new ones! Actually there are some nice submariners around from my year, but it has to be extra special for me to have a Rolex in my collection. Half the fun is the hunt... See you in a few wee...

thanks Scott, i doubt you'll find a dragon design from 64, but you could always buy a Rolex and have a dial painted with a dragon. there's one for sale in Oz, but its not from 64 and isnt the best looking dragon. i keep thinking about a dragon design myse...

thanks Pat, i made the mistake of selling a whole collection via one of UK's biggest auction houses 5 years ago and although the result was ok i could have made a lot more money selling them all seperately so i'll avoid auction houses unless i'm desperate...
