Horological Meandering

Seems I am in minority on this one...

I quite like a PR indicator (but interestingly enough, I do not currently own a watch with such feature..) but to the contrary of most posters in this thread, I find it at least as useful in automatics with short "range" as in the 8day manual.

I wind my manual wind watches in a much more regular manner than I do my automatics. So in a certain way, I have a better feel for the residual power in the manuals. In general, an automatic requires a certain level of agitation to stay in the positive when worn and personally, I loose track of the power balance in my automatics and end up winding them manually to avoid the occasional stop during the night (yes, I must lead a very "unagitated" life smile)

A personal favourite in the class of PR indicator on short range automatics has already been posted in this thread but here is another beautiful shot of a different version (borrowed without prior permission from Jaw):

Another JLC that I like for its unusual copmbination with jump function is this Reverso (again picture by Jaw)

And to round off the JLC range, here is a discrete indicator on a very indiscrete watch! Is it too discrete? Maybe as JLC had to write "Radial Power Indicator" on the dial smile

Thanks for an interesting post Pplater! In all the replies so far, I was most impressed with the DB25 - what a clean smooth beauty!

All the best

Nikolaj
