Horological Meandering

Ollech & Wajs? I picked these up around 20 years or so ago and pretty much threw them in my safe unworn. I love the look of the dials and cases. The story with them is O&W purchased the stock in the late 70's when Breitling (for a short time) went out...  

I remember 15 years ago the O&W website selling NOS Aviation watches. They are as sexy as 806 Navis.

Albert Wajs was a relative of a good friend of mine and when he was visiting London from Zurich many years ago, he brought with him an Aviation Chronomatic with a Calibre 12 automatic movement. I asked if I could buy it from him and he duly obliged. Proba...

which dial do you prefer? I think they are both attractive, but probably drawn to the three registers.

the two register chronograph because I see far fewer of them than the three register chronograph. 👍

I definitely have way more 3 register chronographs than 2 register chronographs, but in the case of the Aviation, I like the look of the 2 register better 👍😁

what are the dimensions?

Diameter is 42mm. Lug to lug is 47.5mm. Between lugs are 20mm. Thickness is 13.2mm. I’m retired now so have the time in the world 😁

Diameter is 41mm for both. Strap size is 22mm and thickness is just under 13mm 👍 All the best, Steve ...

What part of the Breitling stock did they actually acquire? Was it cases, dials…?

1979 The iconic Navitimer rescued from obsolesce. Great friends with Willy Breitling for years, Albert Wajs and Joseph Ollech (along with Patek Philippe and Helmut Sinn) acquire the tooling, stock parts and Navitimer designs from the liquidated Breitling.... 

That a 24h version is offered… But not cheap enough to make me jump 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cosmonaut versions. Too confusing versus standard layout. If I see anything I’ll PM you, but I haven’t seen them in a while.
