On the face of it, this one doesn't look too crazy. Someone else on this forum posted a compelling photo of one many years ago that piqued my interest. I searched eBay and found one for a few hundred bucks and instantly pulled the trigger. Once I got it did I actually find out what it was all about. What makes it crazy is it is essentially a watch SPECIFICALLY for Swiss time. The NYT hand and GMT hand work in concert with the hour and minute hand. You cannot Independently set the hands as essentially the hours/NYT/GMT is one hand, the minutes hand is another. So unless you live in Switzerland or simply don't care about the NYT and GMT being set correctly you are out of luck. At first I thought this was really stupid, but now I find it charming. It's not like I really had planned to wear it more than a day or two a year.

I think it is as simple as liking the idea / concept of the watch (and it being what I thought was good value) but not finding the style something appealing enough. Of course the recent PT version with the reddish copper guilloche that Phillips sold IS so...
