I didn't realise that you could AR both sides of the crystal.
And that each side has it own merits, as I just assumed that if the glass had been coated with AR then it would have the same benefits for either side.
I suppose that if only the outside is coated and that could be worn off over a relative small period of time, this could be the main reason why many brands don't coat their glass.

i believe its not a simple coating process, high temperature heat is used to form AR
