Horological Meandering

Hi all... Curious as to how many of us here have the SAME watch in multiple iterations of such. While logic dictates that it should be best to spread one's collection by having different watches, I am also assuming that emotions sometimes overwhelm logic ...

... same watch , or watches from the same brand - i.e., when you say you have multiple FPJ, VH and Lange, do you mean multiple copies of the same watch? In either case - does your wife have a sister? ;-) Cheers, pplater.

and in my case, its unfortunately multiple copies of same watch Curious to see how many others here are as poorly disciplined and demented as me.

3 Omega Speedmasters and 3 Omega Seamaster 300's. i think 6 seamasters in total, but they have such a wide variety of models that i dont really count them as the same. interesting question. Graham

I don't have multiple copies of the same watch. I assume you mean multiple watches of the same "model".. such as Lange 1, or Seamaster, or Resonance etc... Does having a Lange 1 and a Lange 1 moonphase count? In any case, my answer is NO. I admit I'm way ...

5 Royal Oak Chronographs, 5 Royal Oak Offshores, and a box to hold all 10. When you know what you like, why not specialize? Incidentally, having a box one likes can be a useful crutch for limiting the number of related watches. Park

and when you have really found what you like and specialize, I think that makes the collection even more special as it goes further along. Thanks for sharing!!

to see a lot of new logics here on the forum...boxes as crutch limiters, backups for seasons I'm beginning to understand that wisdom is something that we never completely understand. Someday I might get it and start specializing too Richard

in my original post. I had somehow worded the parameters purposely so, to hopefully encourage more people to participate, in an effort to get a more accurate picture on whether many of us here have multiples/variants of one watch ie Royal Oak Jumbo, Royal... 

in that I won;t buy a Lange 1 in different case materials as an example. I may have different models from say Lange or UN. It's just me but I just want to try different things... but just for watches and not food .... wierd eh. Maybe its becuase I'm still... 

am likewise new on this watch stuff and we all learning together. Great that you are already a watch playboy, am still stuck on the sidelines waiting to make the first move to ask her out.... LOL thanks for joining in and sharing your thoughts on the matt...
