Horological Meandering

The trick is to avoid enlargements.

The pics always look great on my iPhone, but reveal serious flaws on my computer screen. So, I reduce the pixel size before uploading, giving me more control over the compression process and minimizing later embarrassment. I made some pictures yesterday with my regular digital camera (a Canon 5D) and saw afresh the compromises of the iPhone camera.

For one thing, it's always a surprise what part of the picture will actually be in focus, heh. The phrase I can live with that is necessary to avoid insanity.

But the camera in one's hand is vastly superior to the camera back home, when the image opportunity is NOW.
