Horological Meandering

This is the only Breitling I have in my collection.

I gifted my B01 Chronomat 41 to my son a few years back and decided to move to the Navitimer range instead.

I was attracted by the vintage re-edition of this 1959 Chronograph. I liked the idea of the vintage look of this re-edition without the drama of owning an older watch. The painstaking research in arriving at this end product was impressive and it has run flawlessly in the 3 years I have owned it. I didn’t care too much for the black calfskin strap that came with the watch so swapped it for this brown leather one.

I’m pursuing (in a leisurely manner) the 2022 re-edition Cosmonaute but have yet to find one. Again, I like the idea of a modern movement in a faithful reproduction of the first Swiss watch in space - all of the upside and none of the downside. Prices for pre-owned are a lot more reasonable for these now than was the case 2 years ago. I don’t know how they were distributed to dealers and boutiques as the ones I went to - in London and Geneva - didn’t have them. I have seen the red gold 2024 edition, but prefer the manual movement of the 2022, ss as opposed to red gold and the dial details on the 2022 (busier dial and no date).
